FROM NORTH SEA TO ADRIATIC

PLANNED DISTANCE: 3016KM/1885M

ACTUAL DISTANCE WALKED: 2861Km = 1788 miles

ROUTE: From the Hague on the Dutch North Sea coast and east through Holland and Germany along the old merchants' route between the Russian Steppes and the North Sea. We follow it, under different names, to Berlin - the Marskramerpad and the Handelsweg took us across Holland and the Toedddenweg into Germany on the E11. From Berlin we turned south on the E10 along the Polish border to the Czech Republic through Prague and Bohemia into Austria where we picked up the E6 through Slovenia to the Adriatic.
